This thread is making me long for the White mountains up in NH. We didn't get to go this past summer due to finances. It's on the agenda for this summer. I need it. My favorite campground...

Awwwww....that looks nice! Here's hoping summer gets here quickly
(and if you ever want to venture down to NC I have some really pretty places like that to recommend!)
Hey, 20yrs, I'm curious. Your status is "thank goodness I'm a country girl," and I think you've mentioned before that you don't like cities. Why do you like the country if not to be outside in nature?
Silly, she likes nature, just from behind the living room or car windows, that's all
What pretty pictures, Braunwyn and Hawk. I love those kinds of places. Where it's quiet and the air feels so clean and good.
When I was little, my mother's parents lived in Big Bear. We'd drive up there twice a year and spend some time. At night in the winter, the air had this scent. I guess it was all the pine trees and chimneys, but it just smelled like ... cold, I guess. I smell it here in Illinois every now and then. I love that smell.
Put is in my back yard and paint it green....ahhhhh, heaven
Seriously though, I will not camp...creeps me out but I love to be outdoors with my family in the yard, on the water, in the snow but I refuse to camp. My fear of snakes is so fierce I am not very comfortable in some settings outdoors.
Wow and I thought I was bad - I can't even bear to LOOK at a picture of a snake - I'm pretty phobic! But even that (and my other fear of bears) STILL won't keep me from being out on the trail

I can't either! This year I am going through hypnotherapy to rid me of my terrible phobia...it has gotten to the point where the quality of my life is impaired by it...pitiful, huh?
