I don't care about the Panthers or the Bobcats because I don't live in Charlotte. I live in the Triangle.

When Raleigh gets additional professional teams other then hockey perhaps I may be persuaded to root for them, but until then....

Bred in NC

I cheer for all of the NC teams - WAY before I cheer for any other teams. My ideal championship game is two NC teams in the finals.

Yes it is. I didn't want to Hijack that thread.

Up North we aren't really that big into college sports as they are in the South. When I first moved out here I said something bad about Duke and almost got my head chopped off.

I follow Rutgers because I went to Rutgers, I also went to Seton Hall, but I'm a much bigger fan of Rutgers.

As far as football is concerned. It wouldn't matter if the Panthers had Manning as a QB, Moss as their #1 Receiver and Adrian Peterson as their running back. I just refuse to be a fan of another team.

I really don't watch hockey, but I'm forced to go to games all season, so I guess you can say I'm a Canes Fan...

But this year in Sports its going to be
NY JETS Superbowl Champs
NY KNICK NBA Champs
NY METS World Series Champs
Hurricans Stanley Cup winners

I don't like major league professional sports. I've been a Tar Heels fan since childhood, though, and I grew up in VA (ok, I was a UVA fan first)....I am also a huge Durham Bulls fan. I used to love to go to the Richmond Braves games and now I love the Bulls games.

I'm impressed that you believe that there will be an NBA season for this year.

With the Mets 11.5 games back of Philly and 7.5 back from the Braves, the Mets will be the most expensive team not in the playoffs.

You have to have faith. Just like Football these owners and the League has way to much to lose if they don't play. So until the season doesn't happen, I think there will be a season.

As far as the Mets, the season is still young.

We moved here from the West Coast 4 years ago. My husband has become a Hurricanes fan and drives from Hickory to Raleigh for almost all their home games, but he also still likes the Kings and Ducks. (I think that a team called the "Carolina Hurricanes" ought to make sure their games can be heard on radio throughout the Carolinas, but once you get a short distance from the Triangle, that's it. They ought to be the Raleigh Hurricanes or the Triangle Hurricanes.)

In football, he has always liked the Chargers.

I only follow baseball: Dodgers and Mariners.

In pro sports, team allegiance is just cheering for the uniform. Players come and go, and fans just keep cheering for whoever is wearing the jersey at that time.
