I don't know any more than I did when I first posted, except what I've learned on this forum, about Smithfield. But I have looked up schools and Princeton seems to be one of the best around, as far as test scores, etc. I was primarily interested in Smithfield because of a great looking house I saw there on realtor.com. But chances are that house won't even be on the market when I am ready to move. I will know alot more in a few days - I am flying out on Friday for my job interview in La Grange, and will have a rental car. I plan to check out Smithfield, Greenville, Wilson and New Bern (as much as I can in a day!) The ranch you're going to sounds great. Every town has its good and bad sides, and I'm guessing that people are reporting based on their own experiences. But I have heard enough, from many different posts, to prevent me from even looking in Goldsboro or Kinston, which unfortunately are the closest towns to La Grange. So this forum is really helpful. You may not get your questions answered right away, but keep checking back after you've asked one. I'll "drop in" after I get home on Sunday, with my observations.

This place is horrible. I lived out at Sundance for a year and a half. I t was decent until I Saw how the owner and her boyfriend are. They constantly stay drunk and rome the property. There is always cops out there do to them being drunk and fighting but of course they cant do anything because Wendy just tells them she fell. The boyfriend and most of the tenants out there smoke dope and lord knows what else. Deffinately not a place for the kids. The apartments are very small and have mold in them. Everytime I needed something fixed it was always about how they could cut corners and save money. Bad idea to move there you will regret it. Also they broke the contract and i never received my deposit back either. The contract stated no vicious dogs allowed and the owner would have to get rid of the animal imediately or be evicted yeah these rules do not apply to there friends that live out there. The lady in number five had a dog that liked to go after other dogs well it finally went after mine and i let the manager know about it and nothing ever happened so yes they pick and choose what rules apply to each person also very horrible place.
