Correct. Way back when, my family moved from NY to Miami (back in 1980). At the time my father drove us all down in a Ford Granada (don't laugh). It didn't last to long- but I think that was more of the extreme Miami heat, humidty (alhtough we didn't live near the ocean). So he was wondering if the same thing would happen to my 2000 Honda Accord. But I believe it's be winterized prior to purchase (I bought it new).

I was thinking of buying another car here in Boston and driving it down (I know it sounds wierd, but at the moment I can get a few decent deals on 2-4 year old vehicles in Boston). But I was on the fence if it was worth it and just purchase and spend a little more in Charlotte. But it seems like as long as the coating is taken care of it should be okay.

Wow, tell your DH to send me the bill!

Thanks Again!

Mike
You're very welcome!! As long as the coating was on the car WHEN IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED, it should be ok. If the car was in the snow/salt for awhile, & THEN the coating was put on without the corrosion being replaced, you'll still have problems (according to DH). So just make sure you check the paperwork regarding the undercoating thouroughly before you buy your car. That'll be $10,000, please!!! (Just kidding!!) Glad to be of help!!

It must be the neighborhood in Tega Cay. We live 1 street apart!

That is so funny Miker I also had a ford granada when I moved here in the
80's. I thought I was the only one with that ugly car. ;-)
