Attorney General Eric Holder, who has said he will fight North Carolina just passed voting laws that he sees as discriminatory, will announce the lawsuit at noon Monday, along with the three U.S. attorneys from the state.

In addition to asking that the Voter ID law be struck down, the Justice Department is seeking to have North Carolina put back on the “preclearance” list that requires the federal government to approve changes to voter laws.

Question about this part. Wasn't this the part of the Voting Rights Act that was thrown out by the Supreme Court, earlier this year?

If Eric Holder is involved, you can bet it is a bad cause.

No. The enforcement provisions of the Voting Rights Act remain. What was tossed out were the pre-clearance requirements for certain states and jurisdictions.

I support NC's Voter Law and I am confident it will be upheld. Nothing in the complaint holds any water.

If there is good news about this is that the law will be upheld long before the 2016 elections. I was actually concerned the DOJ would wait until after 2014 and try to sue to block it just prior to 2016.

Of course not, especially if they are Blue states. Remember, us racist southerners have to be kept in our place, forever asking the Federal Government for permission to do anything.

I think that anyone who supports the junk that our GA passed this year has to have their head in the sand. Read the ENTIRE thing. Do you support increasing the amount of money people can donate to politicians? I don't. They're crooked enough without extra cash.
