Maybe it's in all the ABC stores. I haven't looked yet, but I certainly will.
It's in the ABC pricebook, so I'd assume it's in the larger stores. AFAIK it's only available in NC at the moment, though they're supposed to start distribution in other states this year.
Ironically, we visited Top of the Hill Distillery in Chapel Hill just last week. The tour was terrific and the samples tasty and generous. The organic grain vodka was OUTSTANDING, IMHO. Well be buying some at the ABC store and returning for future tours with out of town guests
Covington is a spin-off of Yamco, the Snow Hill, N.C. sweet potato processor. Fun-like fact: both Covington and Fullsteam use Yamco sweet potato puree! Yamco literally pipes over the puree to the distillery in the room next door and we get ours delivered in 50-pound aseptic bags.
The sweet potato vodka has a slight earthy, butterscotch note to it. I dig it! Pun intended.
^ Hey fullsteam guy, good to have you posting here. I've heard good things about your brews, but unfortunately I haven't tried them yet as I don't live in the Triangle. I hope to check you out the next time I'm over that way, though. You do honor the City-Data Posters discount card, right?
I've been drinking Covington for about a month now. Picke it up when I happened to stop at an ABC store in Jones County. Pretty good stuff. Has a slight sweetness to it, compared to your normal Vodka.
