Its No Big Deal .. The religious community here was rather surprised the world didn't come to an end. Since this issue was
So over hyped by the GOP the republican running for U.S. Senate is now distancing himself from this issue. The media coverage was quite positive and it showed Gay people in a positive light.

Of course this is nonsense. Democrats in this state sent Jessie Helms, an avowed racist, back to the US Senate every time he ran until he was too old to run anymore. This is a person who used to rail, on TV against integration as something that would ruin standards in the schools and bring crime social disorder to the cities if it happened. Despite this, Democrats wouldn't even support Jim Hunt against him. Helms left office in 2003 and he finally apologized for his racism on his death bed.

More recently and relevant to this topic, Hoyle Martin, an African American Democrat on the Mecklenburg county council, the largest and most urban county in NC, said he wanted a bulldozer to push all the Gays off the earth. See the "Angels in America" and "Gang of 5".

Anyone who believes there are not bigots in both parties, needs to take off those rose colored glasses.

Yeah, those who claim that the Democratic Party of the 1950s shares anything but a name with today's Democratic party are really reaching. That Democratic Party included Ronald Reagan, Jesse Helms, and Strom Thurmond!

Once again, the soi-disant "party of less government interference" is trying to interfere with people's rights as already defined by the Judicial Branch. Smaller govt, yeah right.

Judge lifts stay on two LGBT marriage cases in NC. ACLU files motion to strike down amendment. It's not yet legal to marry, but it's CLOSE! This is a developing story.

I hope gay marriage is banned in North Carolina. Doesn't seem right. If lgbt want custody of there children, all they have to do is take a paternity test.
