Gerrymandering is only made possible by the voter. As long as voters define everything by the party instead of the individual, then they can expect to be gerrymandered. That is the way it is. People have it in their power to fix it simply by voting for the individual instead of by the party.

In regards to the courts, NC's redistricting already subject to special court review.

Because the Democratic Party of 1915 is anything like the party of today. You really think that?

Last 100 years /= 100 years ago.

I'm talking about these Democrats.

In 2008 the Democrats had full control of the NC General Assembly. In addition NC voted in a
  • A Democrat for President
  • A Democrat for Governor
  • A Democrat for US Senator (Defeated a well known celebrity GOPer)
By 2014 they had lost it all. NC voted for a
  • A Republican for President
  • A Republican for Governor
  • A Republican for US Senator (Defeated the 2008 Democrat)
  • GOP controls NC GA by such margins they are veto proof.
  • The first 3 elections are not affected by Gerrymandering.

What does "/=" mean? Not equal to? If so, what does that, and the election results of 2008 and 2014 mean in regard to the comment you responded to?

The issue is not with the voters defining everything by the party, its with the politicians doing so...some would rather destroy the country (or state, county, city, etc.) than see the other party (or President, governor, Mayor, etc.) be credited for an accomplishment. Whats needed, at least at the national and state level, is a viable third (or even better, third and fourth) party.

Simply voting an equal mix of R's and D's accomplishes nothing, except gridlock, which may be fine in the short term, but isn't a long term strategy for success.

Exactly....the government does everything wrong and that's where the problem lies.

Um, no, that's not what I said. You need to work on your reading comprehension.
