Does anyone have any opinions on Newton Grove? It seems that Dunn isn't a real desirable place to buy a home, but is Newton Grove the same?
I guess it depends on where you work. There isn't much going on in Newton Grove and it is a long way from major employment centers. What is the attraction to Newton Grove?
BTW, some friends lived in Newton Grove while the husband worked at Autry Mills. They really prefer living closer to Wilmington.
Newton Grove is a very small rural town. There's a Food Lion, Hardee's, Park Grille restaurant (it's actually very nice), a bank, drug store, gas station, and a park. And Hog Slats (manufacturing). That's about it. You have to go to Clinton, Goldsboro, or Smithfield for "real" shopping, doctors, etc.
I agree with the other posters. Other than the basics (grocery store, gas station, etc..), there ain't jack**** in Newton Grove. We used to go through there a lot almost 20 years ago when I was a kid since we had a family friend that lived out that way and I doubt much has changed. The drive on US-13 between Newton Grove and Goldsboro is boring as hell and I doubt US-13 between Newton Grove and Fayetteville or US-701 between Newton Grove and I-95 in Four Oaks near Smithfield is any better. Only advantage Newton Grove has is if you want to go to Raleigh or Wilmington, I-40 is right there. Unless you're retired and don't need employment, I'd pass on Newton Grove.

Nope, nothing's changed...still nothing between there and Goldsboro, Fayetteville, or Four Oaks....except fields & woods.
