It is very interesting and enlightening, as these women are survivors of sexual abuse. They now live with emotional & physical scars and fears. Their reality of safety has been ripped from them. They are extremely vulnerable. Left out in the cold, with no protection.
Now with this bathroom/locker room/shower free for all, these women are at great risk of further emotional distress and conditions. I wonder how the new mandate to all states will protect "them" and provide the emotionally safe environment "they" need. And the numbers of them? Well over 0.03% of the population. Just saying.
Note how the fear has escalated to redirecting from the real issues with sexual predators and where they're are most likely to strike. Not bathrooms. The self righteous GOP is at it again and repeatedly use scare tactics to push another unrelated agenda.
For instance when they Lottery was being pushed in NC a decade or so ago the GOP came out the woodwork with fear tactics, doomsday predictions, etc. for the state. As if other states didn't already have the lottery for better or worse. Same with this bill as if though other cities, etc don't have these nondiscriminatory measures in place.
This ain't about protecting women/children or safety.

Maybe all of the abused women should unite with the abused transgendered people to form a coalition to protect themselves from their abusers!
Of course, creating fear of nothing is an easy task (and what the GOP does best) and many people buy into it. This isn't the proving ground, Charlotte was simply implemented policies already implemented in other cities.

You seem to buy into the GOP argument 100%. It must be interesting to live in a world where ignoring the fact that most victims know their attacker is so easy. Think whatever floats your boat.
I'm a female boomer. I see a discriminatory law being used as a smokescreen for more laws that will benefit Art Pope, that would come under fire if enacted as standalone laws. The more the GOP lies & fans the flames on the "bathroom bill", the longer those laws fly under the radar.

Well I have nothing to do with the GOP or the Democratic Party either, but at least I am open to and understanding of the feelings of these women who have severe emotional scars, POST sexual assault and just as people do not want transgenders to feel uncomfortable in the shower or locker room, I do not want these women to feel uncomfortable either.
I do not understand why the solution to this has to be a one way road, as usual.

Here is an interesting stat. The percentage of people in this country who are sexually assaulted by people they do NOT know, is still more than the total percentage of transgenders.
This has to do with taking away a perfectly acceptable and customary system for millions and millions of people, in order to give "special" rights to a tiny fraction of the population. There are other options available, which have been offered up, but nothing is good enough for some people except everything their way......not giving a damn what other people feel like.

Again. . .I am a female boomer. Most females of my generation can tell tales of abuse of various types, if we choose. I see no point in crying in your beer over the past. Again, the trans people have been in the bathrooms for decades. HB2 was not written to protect women & children, but to serve as a smokescreen for the Art Pope special laws. Whether you chose to ignore it, or missed it, a concerned parent posted this in another thread. Lawmakers should do more to truly protect N.C.
