That McCrory number is depressing.

Ugh... I really cannot stand the sight of that guy.

He could be in a district with every incumbent being republican, and thus wanting to remove everyone from Washington/Raleigh.

He doesn't have to justify anything to you though.

No, he does not. However, this is a discussion about the elections in NC.....so I thought it a fair question. I think you make a great point regarding unopposed districts.

I hope that's more accurate re: the gubernatorial race.

Clinton has held a steady average of a 3 point lead here in NC in the most recent polls, 2.5% lead in the RCP average. The only thing they may keep her from an NC win is the news that broke on Friday about the emails. This weekend I think was the first full weekend of early voting, and I think that news could not have come at a worse time for Clinton and down ballot Democrats as it could have maybe not swayed votes from Clinton to Trump as much as it depressed her turn out. I know one person who actually voted yesterday and had planned on voting for Clinton but switched to Trump. Thats just one person I know but there is an example.

I did some campaign volunteering for a school board candidate and county commission a couple of times. One thing I remember was following the early vote in my precinct, which had a GOP lead in early voting until the final Tuesday. Then I read in the papers about the Obama vote turnout machine. It is a real thing, but whether it works as well for Clinton... who knows.
