That Winston-Salem photo isn’t even the entire skyline. It’s missing the 500 w. 5th (old GMAC tower). I love that NC has so many different skylines and city centers. I would definitely include Wilmington in the list.

Charlotte will not have multiple skylines like Atlanta. Raleigh probably will with “midtown.” If midtown doesn’t already have south park beat, it will and the Gap will widen. South Park can only build in the remaining parking lots and is hemmed in my historical neighborhoods with no interstate access.

It’s not a bigger downtown. It just has more office space. It’s a few buildings by a mall. It’s not that serious. And I honestly question that figure.

Is it by office space? Class A office space? By workers? I don’t see how.

Yeah that’s the only decent aerial shots I could find, that Greensboro shot is from like 2015, has none of the new developments near the ballpark. Or any develops on elm street.

I plan to get some awesome shots of Greensboro and W-S with my new drone.

Here is some information about South Park Charlotte

The neighborhood was once a part of a 3,000-acre (1,200 ha) farm owned by former North Carolina Governor Cameron Morrison. Directly adjacent to South Park Mall is Morrison Boulevard, which connects South Park with the Barclay Downs neighborhood.

SouthPark is an area edge city in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Its name is derived from the upscale SouthPark Mall, which opened on February 12, 1970.[4] At nearly 1.8 million square feet, SouthPark Mall is the largest shopping mall in Charlotte and all of North Carolina.

Within the limits of SouthPark, the upscale SouthPark Mall features many high-end designers and boutiques such as Kate Spade, Burberry, Tiffany & Co, Kenneth Cole, American Girl, Lacoste, Juicy Couture, Louis Vuitton, and many others. SouthPark Mall is also anchored by Dillard's (formerly Ivey's), the flagship store for Belk, North Carolina's second Nordstrom, the state's only Neiman Marcus, and Macy's (formerly Hecht's). Dick's Sporting Goods and The Container Store serve as additional anchors at the mall. The Village at SouthPark, located adjacent to the Dillard's store, features Crate & Barrel, Design within Reach, and popular restaurants. Other shopping complexes such as Phillips Place are within a close radius to SouthPark Mall and feature a diverse mix of tenants including Taylor Richards & Conger, Allen Edmonds, Brooks Brothers, Orvis, and Restoration Hardware.

South Park is the home to the Fortune 300 company Nucor, as well as Dixon Hughes Goodman, National Gypsum, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, AmWINS Group, Carolinas AGC and Piedmont Natural Gas. Fluor, Bank of America Mortgage, First Citizens Bank, SunTrust Banks and CSX have major divisional operations located in South Park. The area is also home to the flagship store of grocer Harris Teeter.

Carolinas Medical Center, owned and operated by Atrium Health, serves South Park and surrounding areas. Atrium Health recently opened a new medical office complex within South Park featuring a medical office tower and freestanding emergency department.

South Park is served by the Morrison branch of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County

The Symphony Park amphitheater at South Park is home to Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pops concerts.

They are not per the Census Bureau, but they work together as one region for workforce development. Catawba County and the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance collaborate and include Catawba in a 15 county Charlotte region for job development.

It is more than just a few buildings by a mall. When I read the article it was by office space and workers. South Park is an entire neighborhood and business district akin to Buckhead with smaller towers and no rail service.....I will find and post the article.

No disrespect but SouthPark definitely feels bigger and busier than downtown Raleigh. Taller buildings do not make it bigger...
