We are moving here shortly and I'm looking for any information on this city. I have checked out city-data.com, but there's not much info. I'm looking for pictures, job info, schools, what the city itself is like, how's the weather? Do ya'll get lots of tornado's? Any information would be very helpful, my friend is moving in about 3 weeks and I may be coming at that time as well and need as much help as possible. Thank you all ahead of time for any help you can give me.
You can check out the Charlotte sub-forum on here and do a search for Statesville,I got a bunch of results.I vacation a lot in Lake Norman(Mooresville,Sherrills Ford)so I don't know too much about Statesville but the people on that board will!Good luck!
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), 15 tornadoes were reported in Iredell County between 01/01/1950 and 02/28/2008 resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries. Not bad for a 58 year period.
Statesville is a growing city. 45 minutes North of Charlotte (non-rush hour) and 45 minutes West of Winston-Salem (non-rush hour). Just North of Lake Norman. Tornaodo's are rare in Western NC due to the mountains in the western part of the state blocks most strong storms.
