Default schools

I'm moving to Charlotte from California so I'm not a native and not much help. But if you look at link removed (it is still link to realtor) and click on "relocation" there is a list of all the private schools in the Charlotte area, plus cost, student/teacher ratios etc. (No, I'm not a realtor, don't know helen adams, not using helen adams - it's just a website that I found and bookmarked because it has that information handy.)

Also, from my research I've learned that the "university" area around UNC-Charlotte is very nice, has many non-natives, and good schools. The area around Davidson College is supposed to be nice as well (Davidson is a presigious private college about 30 minutes north of Charlotte, I believe). Sorry I can't be of more help, but hopefully that gives you some bit of a start!! Good luck.

Connie

Hi Heather, I'm a transplant from MA who's a transplant for FL who's a transplant from NY. The last time I lived in NY was in 1980 when I was 11- it's changed a tad bit since then

Anyway, I heard great things about Charlotte Christian School. I went to a Christian School in Miami, so I know the experience. It's a big pricey but I hear it's worth it. In fact a couple high school friends, that also ended up in Charlotte have their kids there and totally love it. My realtor also recommended a few other Christian Schools, depending on the area you would eventually land in. I can PM you if you want.

Best of luck with your search!

Yes Davidson is nice. We bought a new home there but it is in Cabarrus county. Good schools I hear low taxes. It's in the woods for the time being. The area is beautiful. If you like the lake 7 miles west.

Yeah we did buy when we went in June. Well we are going to put our house up for sale here next week. The new one will probably be ready Feb. I'm thinking maybe January we'll go.

Hiya--I did look at your housing development (you mentioned from previous post) -- It's the "Farm" right? Anyway, it's WONDERFUL! We may be right in front of you on the way out of the Phoenix area. Our house goes on the market in the next week or so.

Good luck on your house sales fellow zonies...Mine has been on the market for a while now and I'm getting very concerned. I am not in any position to take a hit and reduce once again so I'll just have to sit it out. I hope it goes better for both of you Keep us updated!

Hey zonies! I know it's a little scary with the market here. But, chances are it will sell sooner or later. Ya know, it's funny because I had my husband do a search on our homes value from work and another friends that lives in goodyear/avondale. You know his house(which is smaller than ours) is valued almost $10K more than ours. He said our area may be declining-yikes! Im a little frustrated but hey...what can ya do? Good luck to all of you in the sales of your homes!!
