HI! I am a single mother with a 3 year old son. I am planning on moving to Fayetteville in the next 6 months or so and I'm trying to find a good area. I have found a few homes I like but I'm not sure how to go about finding out the crime rate, schools education system, petafiles in the area, etc- online. I am looking at one home in particular that is in Fayetteville and the schools district is Westover and Cliffdale. I found another home I liked in Haymount area but heard some of the schools on that side weren't very good. I am open to any and all suggestions. I lived there (Fayetteville-military) for about a year but wasn't around long enough to really get to know all the areas and things of that nature. Any inputs and ideas will be taken with open arms. I'm trying to keep my budget for a house under 135,000.00. Thanks again everyone

Just FYI:
It's generally not a good idea to post your actual email on a board like this--just ask people to contact you privately via the function on city-data. Spammers and other unsavory types will have a field day with a "naked" email like yours is.

The schools in the Westover district aren't so great. Jack Britt School district would be too expensive for you. Look at the Cape Fear district area (anywhere "east of the river" (Cape Fear River, that is)) and you'll find excellent schools, and cheaper cost of living.

Check out the HOpe Mills area as well. I'm pretty pleased with the schools out there - middle and high school, as well as elementary . In general, they seem smaller and easier to manage. Just my .02.
