New to Pinehurst/Southern Pines (Welcome, Aberdeen: camping, price, gym)

My husband and I are moving to Pinehurst this spring. We are young, active and love the outdoors! Can someone please point us in the direction of walking/jogging trails, parks, dog parks, really anything fun and outdoors in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area? Any gyms in the area (we've found the Gold's Gym in Southern Pines)? What about mountains/lakes, hiking and camping nearby?...is Uwharrie Nat'l Park the best/closest?

Welcome to Moore County!
Aberdeen has a reservoir with trails. Southern Pines has a reservoir with trails that you can walk or bike. Several dog parks but only 1 that is fenced (membership fee required). Pinehurst has walking paths, parks, skating rink (rollers), ball parks, etc.
Biggest gym is First Health Rehabilitation. Huge! Has everything! And reasonably priced.
Uwharrie is the closest camping area with good facilities (and close).
Walking trails are everywhere around here. How about walking on a golf course? You don't HAVE to play, just walk along the cart paths.

I love the reservoir in Southern Pines but my favorite place to walk is Weymouth Woods!
