Welcome to Merchant's Village! We are opening a new 120,000 square foot indoor market square at 1201 Oak St. in Pittston, PA. This massive new retail space has an additional entrance on rt. 135, and is seconds from nearby exits on rt. 476 and rt. 81 (in the previous Walmart building).

Merchants' Village

Now we know, no Home Depot or Lowes.

Just a Giant indoor flea market.

Scheduled to open in November...

That sounds like a great deal, less than $10 a day, and they manage the booth & sales for you. Great for craftspeople. I will have to alert my wife to this and have her check it out.

Get ready for a bigger onslaught of flea markets, garage sales, dollar stores, etc. The projection is for a brief uptick in the economy, shortly followed by a downturn even worse than the current one. At least that was the report on yesterday's news.

Not to mention the fact that Pittston Township is already home to two dollar stores, K-Mart, and a Wal-Mart Supercenter. I'm surprised with all of the higher-end townhomes and McMansions sprouting up in the Pittston Area School District that none of these upper-middle-class people are creating a demand for anything better.

Went there the other day, and that was enough for me. I really don't see how this will last in this area. All it is in junk.
