Chefkey, Those photos are awesome!! Indicative of how the colors on the leaves are at this point in time. Still some green left but we are getting some colors.

Glad everyone enjoyed, they were taken a few days ago at the Nuangola Ice Ponds. I plan to hunt for some other good shots this weekend and will try to post.

We headed up to Bushkill Falls today, and boy are we glad we did! The weather was great (bit too warm for October though) and the colors were just what we were hoping for--reds and oranges along with some green and yellow. Chefkey's photos convinced me that it was a good time to go up there . I'm so glad we went. Now, I'll be doing my fall foliage hikes in Delaware for the remainder of the month. Can't wait!

^^^Wow!! Glad you enjoyed it. Are you still up here? It rained right after 6pm that Friday but I enjoyed my ride in from work. Beautiful colors coming up Bushkill Falls Road. I have plenty of leaves on my lawn but I'll take care of it next weekend Went for a walk through Tamiment this morning just to take all the nature in. Planted some daffodil bulbs so they will sprout up in the spring. Rained again this afternoon but I just sat on my porch and breathed the fresh air while it rained. Great weekend so far!!

Usually our foliage is caused by the first frost. But that is not the case this year. Most areas have not had frost; but have had extremely dry conditions. Usually the highest elevations start changing first and the change works down to the lower elevations. Gouldsboro is usually first and it works down to Mt. Pocono and eventually down to Stroudsburg. Also, the Wind Gap area and south is behind Stroudsburg.

Quietlife--we left on Friday around 3:00 and headed to Shady Maple for dinner, and then we went home. Glad we beat the rain! It sure is a beautiful area up there; I wish it wasn't over four hours one way just to get there or we'd go more often. I love the mountains and the peace and quiet up in the Poconos.

Want outstanding foliage? Head up to Lake George and skip over to Vermont. A real nice two day get-a way.

I used to love the trip up I-87 to Plattsburg, then over to Burlington on the fairy, then down I-89, to I-93 and eventually back on I-84. It is a beautiful drive with the fall foliage - even in a commercial truck.

Jim Thorpe is hosting a "Fall Foliage weekend" this coming weekend. First part was this past. There were special train rides, vendors set up in the square, live music, lots of food. The drive up 209 towards Lehighton is beautiful. Vibrant a reds and oranges.
