On another site some chatter started up about the old pocono drag lodge. Well, some of the people on this site pulled out their old photo albums and posted some great pictures from the 60's of the drag lodge operational. I though I would share some of the history of the area with the users here, both new to NEPA and old salts that will remember the track vividly. Unfortunately I was closed way before my time.

I hope you enjoy, and here are a few teasers before the link

Yep, I was at the Pocono Drag Strip just about every weekend during the racing season, I was in my teens at the time and the experience was thrilling! I saw my first "rail" at the PDS, what an experience that was! Does anyone know what happened to the land the drag strip was located on? That's way off my memory's beaten path!

Can you tell me where this track is located? Are they thinking of reviving it or having a car show there?

Wow Pocono Drag Lodge! Boy did that bring back alot of memories. Used to go there when I was in high school with my boyfriend back then Ricky. We were from Nanticoke. Have to say though I wasn't really that much into the racing like he was. And I remember how hot it used to be there when we went. I remember going there on my 17th birthday.

Can't thank you enough for posting those pictures. I hope you have more pictures that you can post. I'm sure everyone would greatly appreciate it.There is alot of talk about a reunion. Plenty of interest in having it maybe this spring or summer timeframe. Can you give me a number to reach you at.
