I agree with the above. I grew up in the Hill Section of Scranton and have relatives who still live there. If you like older homes and tree-lined streets, some parts of the Hill Section are definitely worth considering. Most of the homes in the nicer areas of the Hill Section have very small front yards and back yards of varying sizes--some back yards are tiny, others have enough room for gardens, areas for kids & pets to play, etc. If you want a larger yard, you will probably want to avoid houses located on corner lots, as they tend to have smaller yards and/or yards that are open to public view from the sidewalk & street. Also, note that when you're looking at pictures of homes you may notice that many of these older homes appear not to have garages. However, in fact, many of them do have garages, but the garages are often hidden directly behind the house at the far end of the back yard, an arrangement that works because there are "courts" running between the avenues, so the garages can open onto the courts rather than onto the main streets. (Just thought I'd mention the courts because I've found that out-of-town visitors are frequently surprised by them--apparently it's not that common an arrangement.)
