Good morning all~ I have been looking into sites about the Scranton WB area. I think I might have finally found what I am looking for!!!

My husband and I are moving to Scranton, my husband was born and raised there, entered the Army in 1977 and we have been living on Long Island since 1992. I have always wanted to relocate there ( I left Long Island in 1986 and never wanted to come back ) and after years of pestering him we are finally MOVING!!! My eldest two children have finished high school and with our little one being only 6 it is the perfect time in our lives for this.

I do have concerns being a New Yorker and moving there. I have read so much about how some in NEPA view us as "...encroachers..." etc. I am a college educated woman who is blessed to be able to be a stay at home Mom.

I am searching for my niche I guess. Can anyone give me information on how I can become involved in my new community? Which areas of the city have afforable middle class environments? We are not wealthy by anyone's definition but I believe with hubby having a job at Tobyhanna Army depot, we will be able to support our family in a "decent" life style...

Any information anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

We did our walk through at the new home in Monroe County yesterday.

On Friday night we had dinner at Robert Christian's Restaurant outside of Blakeslee. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the prices were right!

Since we will be living close by, I'm sure we will be returning to sample more from the wonderful menu there.
