Have recently(24 hrs ago)committed to a rental on Prospect Ave 18505. Unfortuantly I'm in Phillie and have no idea what it looks like. It is not on google street view.
I know the landlords well enough that is is'nt a dump, but am inquiring here if any photo's exist of the 1900 block of Prospect ave(south) 18505. Also if it's relatively safe I heard further up, no but my area yes.
Thanks,
Phillie Kat looking for some peace.

I can tell you that the area is ok. It is a residential area. Our church is about two blocks away. Prospect ave is not a main thoroughfare...you are a block away from that. You're about 2 blocks away from a convenience store and one of the city's fire stations. Welcome to the area.

Thank you sendem39. After looking at some posts and pics of Scranton empty offices; I
was getting a bit nervous.
I love the fact that on the outskirts, it LOOKS like Pa should look(not Phillie) regarding the parks and river areas and trails. Seems to be in close proxsimity(sic) to where we will be.
I have friends in Dunmore and finding a rental there or in Clarks Summitt has been either impossible or unaffordable.
So... I settled and sight unseen, will go on faith.
As a recent widow and raising my 13 yr old grandchild, I just want a fresh start and hope this will be the change I am looking for.
Grand loves the cold..I love Fl. so guess who I'm pleasing? lol

Well, let me add that you will have a park within walking distance, maybe 2 blocks. That park includes a dog park, playground, swimming pool, football field. There are also baseball fields nearby also. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Not sure where your name came from, but most Kit Kat bars for the US have been made in Hazleton.

Well..my husband nick-named me that, a long time ago.
Then we adopted a rescue cat, a calico and that was her name and it secured her adoption!!

I am getting crazy to have this move over and done with..
Looking very forward to the slower pace in Scranton. Plus exploring what looks like a beautiful area.

Wow you are brave! Have to admit that I have been planing a Scranton move for over a year now and I can't move unless I know the area inside and out and have at least asked like twelve people for their advice about the area and the schools!
Blessings to you on raising a grandchild! I have a 13 year old daughter and it is a challenging but fun age group!
It really is a beautiful area! I have a feeling that you will be happy!

I would not have thought anyone thinking me brave! I needed that! TY!
I kinda thought to myself.. "man, are you dumb doing this on faith, sight unseen?!
But, my dad raised me on a wing and a prayer, so I guess it's in my nature to do this!
(I did check schools on phone last week)I have a good feeling it will be all ok.
Good thoughts your way, your daughter too!

Yes "brave" is the right adjective here! I have found NEPA people to be very very friendly and for the most part welcoming. I think that you will too.
To me it's like a big small town where you really do not need a car to get by. Although a car is nice.
Let me know how your move goes.
BTW - your dad is a smart guy. It sounds as though the apple does not fall far from the tree!
