Mike, I didn't make myself very clear in the post you referenced. The HVAC company is in Sussex Co., DE. We are redoing a house there. It is North Star Heating and Air Conditioning. They are located on RT 26 at Vine's Creek between Bethany and Dagsboro....just in case anyone from that area might be reading this.

Also, my son is living in DE. His company is there, so it wouldn't help ya out up here in NEPA.

I've had the same experience. You have to call 4 different people for estimates because you know at least half of them won't show. And sometimes its' worse when they do.

I have lived in a few states and a foreign country and multiple townships...the problem with workers showing up IS WORSE HERE THAN ANY OTHER PLACE I HAVE LIVED!!!!!!!!!!!! SINCE THE TOPICS HAVE TO BE NEPA SPECIFIC I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP TRYING TO DEFEND AND COMPARE NEPA TO OTHER PLACES~! Since if we discuss a non-NEPA topic it is removed, delted or altered!

OK. I'm truly sorry. My venting and frustration about my son's situation got away from me.

Never had a problem in KS. Here it's a problem. Currently I can't even get a call-back from the technician who serviced my furnace for the past 2 years. And he was good! Now I have to find someone else in the Milford area who is competent, trustworthy, etc. to service my Kinetic 2000. Too much fun.

Not defending anyone here...there is no excuse for bad business...

but I just wanted to add that I'm thinking part of the problem may be the current economy and what has happened to the construction industry, due to the national housing crisis (of which the Poconos was hard hit). Many Pocono companies that serve this industry have gone out of business, laid off workers, and gone to shorter work days or weeks to compensate for the loss of customers. This is true of builders, home improvement companies, building supply yards & most contractors you can think of.
