I'm moving to the area and think I'll have to get a perm just to tame my wavy, unruly hair in the NOVA humidity. It's so hard trying to find a great hair person ... especially if you want something like a perm. Soooooo, let me know of your great salons and hair dressers!! Thanks so much.

Well, I can't vouch for my stylist but she has been AFTER me to get a perm for awhile now. Not a normal, 80s style perm but a 3-minute perm to add texture. I have very soft hair, but a lot of it.

Anyway, she is not an old lady and stuck in the past. She is young and graduated from Graham Webb and does this to her own hair occasionally. They pretty much take the rods out before the curl sets so all you get is texture and volume. She sounds like she knows what she's talking about but I have yet to try it.

If you are interested in trying her out (it's down in Lakeridge), you can send me a DM and I'll give you the info.

My stylist is in Woodbridge (more Lakeridge area) so it's not that far from you. She swears by the technique and maybe one day I'll give it a try!

I've never heard of this and haven't seen anyone in perm rollers for decades. For this 3 minute perm, do you have to have the rods and stinky stuff on your hair?
