I'm looking at buying a house which backs to Old Bridge Road, near SmokeTown Road. It's not right up on the road, a decent step back. My question is about the road it self. Time of day that it is busy, how busy? What kind of traffic? Does the road limit semi-trucks from driving on it???

I'm an out of state buyer. I could and will ask my realtor, but still an opinion of my cyber peers would be nice!

It's usually busy during rush hour. Between 630a-10a and 4-7pm. There will always be cars running on it though as it's a main thoroughfare between Woodbridge and Manassas. I've seen semis on there, but there isn't much. They've just added a lane from on each side between Old Bridge Road and Hoadley road also.

It is a very busy road but it's nothing like an interstate if that's what you are worried about. There are lights at all the major roads so getting out usually isn't a problem.

I'm guessing that the concern might be noise? The OP says that a prospective house "backs" onto Old Bridge Road.

OP, does the yard back up against the road with no buffer? How far from the road is it?
