Ok, I've driven this before but always gone through/by the Pittsburgh area and through Breezewood. Is there still construction along the route? Or anybody have another suggestion of a different route?

You may get more accurate responses if you ask the construction part of this question in the Pennsylvania forum since it appears geared toward construction around Breezewood/Pittsburgh/PA Turnpike.

We do the same going to Indiana. I think there's always some construction on that section of I-79 but its not bad, and i love driving on I-68. In Frederick, Md, take Rt. 15 south over Pont of Rocks down to Leesburg and you will also miss all the DC beltway traffic.

Agreed. I'm from Pittsburgh and taking 68 is definitely a much nicer drive than the Turnpike... it's cheaper too.
