Depending on where the leak is, it may still be under warranty. The system we bought in Dec of 2009 is warrantied for 10 years (parts, not labor). Labor is relatively cheap compared to some of the parts, so you might want to look into it. If it's a leak in the compressor unit or the blower unit, it's probalby covered. The piping in between, maybe, maybe not.

I use Residential Systems for my annual HVAC maintenance. Always found the technicians to be professional and skilled.

We recently used HVAC Unlimited (HVAC Unlimited, Inc. Heating & Air Conditioning) and had a good experience.

Default Residential Systems

Ditto on Residential Systems! I had a bad experience and spent a ton of money on another local company during 100 degree weather. After spending that money they told me I needed a new system.

After calling Residential for a second opinion, it turns out I only had a small leak! They bled the system, soldered the leak and I had A/C in less than an hour! I spent about $450 if memory serves me right. I've used them since and they have always been extremely professional and eager to educate. I feel well informed and never feel as if I'm being "pitched a sale".

Woody's Sudden Service. I had an excellent experience with them a month ago when my AC broke on a Sunday afternoon in 100 degree weather. They were very reasonably priced, honest, and could fix my AC when nobody else could. I found out about them from this website and they're also in Checkbook.

Do not use United Air Temp...I had a service contract with them around six years ago and they were terrible...constantly trying to upsell me with new products each time they came to my home.

thanks guys, it's a leak in the evaporator coil which is under warranty but the labor is ridiculous. $1250... ugh.

We use Brennans - had them install a new system back in 2009 (which is why I mentioned the warranty thing...I paid a ridiculous amount of attention to that information). They're not the cheapest on the planet, but they've treated us like gold, didn't try to upsell (they actually recommended NOT going with Trane or Lennox, and gave me reasons why), and they're quick. I ordered my system on a Thursday afternoon and they were installing it first thing Friday morning (day before the December snowstorm even!).
