Are you moving again? It seems like you just got here. I'll miss you.

Bring it on! I'll once again get to use my native New Englander driving skills.

(If you're new to the area, be sure to check out our local "weatherguy" the Woolly Bear in the thread below.)

Woolly Bears

They sure were right in the winter of 09/10! Snowmageddon was fun, but almost too much. 77" in a whole winter, and we were the snowiest city in the nation. Even snowier than Buffalo, NY. That's saying something. (for a big city anyway)

I think I might have enjoyed it a bit more outside of the city though. After a few days, the snow in anything city like tends to start to get nasty, especially the plow piles. Not to mention there was just no place to put it all for the most part, and we had to listen to endless days and nights of front end loaders, dumptrucks and BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP constantly. The shovel pile from our parking area by the last storm in Feb was higher than our jeep!

Anyway, I wouldn't mind more snow than last winters little wimpy attempts at snow. At least snow gives you something nice to look at during winter. Here's hoping our little woolly bear friends are right again this year!

Thanks for your kind words
While we love it here, it's really difficult being so far away from family. We jumped at an opportunity to relocate back, but will miss NoVa very much. Maybe I'll pack a Woolly Bear & see if he'll bring snow to TX

I've been living in NOVA for 25+ years and I've never heard of this weather-predicting caterpillar before. Sounds fishy to me.

Have any of these weather predicting animals ever won Bob Ryan's golden shovel award? I think not.
