I was standing in a line for a Philly cheesesteak at the Food Court (by AMC Theaters) in the Tysons Corner mall, and this well-dressed guy in front of me was talking to the person taking the order. This well-dressed guy spoke for 2-3 mins while the other person just kept smiling politely and shaking his head. The well-dressed guy then walked away and the person taking the order rolled his eys and said "It's one of those days!". When I inquired about this incident, he said that the well-dressed guy wanted a free Philly cheesesteak and only if he liked it, he was going to buy a second cheesesteak later! Apparently, he just kept insisting and negotiating for those 2-3 mins!!
As I waited to pick up my order, this well-dressed guy went to the neighboring food stall (Chinese place), placed an order, paid for it and walked away with the food.
I just cannot understand what happened. What would prompt someone to keep asking for free food when you clearly have the money to buy food from elsewhere for more or less the same price?
I don't think that one man is representative of Northern Virginia. Maybe he heard (incorrectly) that there was a deal at the Philly Cheesesteak place. Maybe he's a cheapskate.
LOL, when I saw the thread title about Nova going nuts I thought this was going to be about Eugene DelGaudio winning yet another election. Nuts, I tell ya. It's nuts!
I can explain. Every couple of years the University of Chicago Economics Department does a follow up survey to show there's still no such thing as a free lunch.
That guy was probably a retail store employee that is forced to dress nicely. He probably frequents the food court and tries to coax free food out of the cashiers.
I look fairly young and when I'm wearing a tie while walking through the mall I am often mistaken for a store employee.
I thought this was going to complain about the cops getting free meals
