You can rent a stump grinder for about $75 from home depot and grind it yourself if your so inclined.

Oh man, those unsightly player stumps are the worst! It's totally worth paying a professional to keep them from urinating on my bipinnatifids.

We paid $150 to remove a tree including a stump. The contractor did take the tree to the recycle center in Leesburg.
