Does anyone know of any Hispanic barbers in the area? Ones that lean more toward the clipper side and not so much the "salon" type.

I don't know for sure...but I would predict one might find a business in the Arlandria section of Alexandria, just above the Del Ray neighborhood.

I'm genuinely curious because of the way that you phrased it, are there some specific Hispanic hairstyles that only a Hispanic barber can do properly? I ask because I had an older co-worker a few jobs ago (black) who said something about barber colleges teaching "black hair" and "white hair" as two completely different things. And yeah, there are differences; but he didn't say anything about "Hispanic hair." You question piqued my curiosity.

It's a little hard to explain, but to put it simply, Hispanics can fall into either category (black vs white hair). So, there are Hispanic barbers that deal with each type (some both). I've always gone to black barbers at home because of my hair type. At this point, I'm just trying to reconnect with my Hispanics in some way or another.

You see this with Middle Eastern barbers too, I feel your pain, no one knows how to deal with the in between hair takes a special skill.

As a person with thicker wavier hair, Ive actually found that vietnamese barbers know how to deal with it and cut it so it looks good with the proper length on the sides that dont make the hair look bulbous.
