We went out to look at new homes in the south riding/chantilly area - needless to say, we were overwhelmed with all the new construction available. We did like the Avonlea homes by NV Homes.

They are offering the base price of $409,000 for 3100 sq ft, 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Free incentives include a 10" extension which would typically run about $22,000 on its own and a luxury bath suite for free. All in all, the free incentives would add up to about $40,000 or so.

Being a first timer, we aren't sure if it is the best deal. Does anyone know if this would be a great deal in the area??

PS: Forgot to ask if someone might have already bought into the development and can provide some insight as to how they feel about the community in general?

After looking on the net... that $409K price is for a town home. The single family homes in that neighborhood start at $570K.

NV uses the worst windows, check them to see if they shut properly, and are cheap quality. They built a neighborhood called Piedmont in Haymarket and all the windows are cheap and the insides of the windows are bulging. I looked at their NV or Ryan and they suck. I would not buy from that builder.
