I had jumped too quickly when I called and said a package never arrived based on inaccurate delivery tracking information but what was interesting was even though they opened a case, no one got back to me. I did however get an email for a survey on the results of the complaint I made! Usually I have had no problems with the USPS. The only other time was when two packages mailed at the same time, the one to Afghanistan made it for Easter. The other one to Colorado Springs never showed up but was returned to me over a month later. They thankfully resent it once I convinced them it was a good address and they had been other mailed received there in the past.

Yep. If you're going to ask me a stupid question, you'll get a stupid answer.

The only stupidity here is automatically assuming someone at the post office is ripping off your mail. I'm appalled.

I'll add to my previous comment. In the business that I'm in, it's pretty close knit -- everyone talks among ourselves including with our competitors.

I have only heard of one situation (that didn't affect me) where a postal worker was found to have been "mishandling" the contents of envelopes. It was several years ago. It only took about 3 incidents and postal inspectors were able to match the processor with the routes; the person was identified, canned, and prosecuted.

As much as folks complain about the USPS, I'd say most have never had to deal with foreign carriers and/or spent time overseas. Because if they had, they'd realize just how good we have it.

Appalled??? Pretty strong description considering I was only expressing my wife's thoughts at the time (whether they were justified or not). I already admitted that the delays were likely due to the crazy Christmas schedule. Anyway, I'm not going to discuss this any further...if you want to throw in your final 2 cents w/ another post...that's fine. But my point is...why take the time to post something when it absolutely adds no value? It's not informative, educational, or even funny...you just wanted to take a jab. That's fine of course...I guess I just have a personal philosophy of not posting on this forum unless I can make a contribution of some sort.
