I don't even waste my time (or money) at the farmers markets since I can get the same stuff for less there.
That sounds great. Where is it?

Cody Lundin called; he wants his Internet thread back.

OK, but seriously--head up to Takoma Park. That's where all the hippie-dippy stuff is around here. (And by NoVA standards, bins of TVP and oats are decidedly hippie-dippy.)

Sprout's is tops. Thanks for reminding me to raise the rent on my rental property that is 200 yards from the back of one. Trader Joe's has never been in the same league as them on produce. TJ's is still excellent for some items. You can get some almost similar deals to Sprout's at Global Foods, but not quite as cheap or fresh, but a lot better than what the fat, pale people are buying at Giant. I was in Harris Teeter on Sunday and the fish market smelled so bad, I'm not even sure I will buy beer in there again. Most NoVans have never seen anything like Sprouts, so be careful who you ask. http://www.city-data.com/forum/north...s.com.....puts Whole Foods to shame.

You didn't happen to be at the Brambleton Harris Teeter, did you? I was there last night, and the seafood area smelled like death. Not sure what was going on, but I was shocked at the people waiting in line to get seafood.

(As for beer, unless you are buying directly from local breweries or specialty bars, your best bet is Total Wine. Now for wine, Total Wine is ok, unless you are within a reasonable distance to Aldie.....then you can do no better than a visit to Wally......)
