I've always lived in NoVa but I'm still not sure of where to buy based on commute. My husband works in Western Alexandria and I work in the Reston Town Center. We want our commutes to be under 45 mins and get a single family house under 600k. I'm from Loudoun and would love to move back but I don't want to be unfair to his commute. What areas should we look to buy?

I haven't seen anything there in that price range... I've been finding things in Chantilly and centreville that might meet the commute goals. My family lives in Leesburg and Purcelle though. So I was hoping for Herndon but I'm not sure how rough of a commute that would be to West Alexandria

Is he willing to pay for the DTR and 495HOT lanes each day? If so, the commute would be under 45 minutes. But, if you are willing to pay all of that for a commute, just up your housing budget.

I would say your best bet is Fairfax.

Burke / West Springfield / Fairfax (south) , and then you can take the FFX County Parkway up to Herndon.

There should be SFH's in the 500's you can find throughout there.
