Best towns to live in near Front Royal
Dear Readers please help, we are relocating for professional work to Front Royal VA. Kids are grown so schools are not a consideration, however the quaint ambiance of a town up to 30 to 40 minutes travel to and from Front Royal is ok.
Are there any great towns we can consider to reside in that may be the best keep secrets of those that know? We like Organic Groceries, Coffee Shops with live music on weekends, Wine Bars, Friendly Intelligent people, Arts...both visual and audible...and so much more.
Please help as your comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, J and T

Wow, looking for yuppie-ish pleasures all contained within one town near Front Royal is probably a tall, near impossible order. I mean we have combinations of ALL of these things in towns around the area. Winchester is probably the only town that has all of this contained within itself.
So I'm thinking of 'quaint' and near Winchester and within 45 minutes to Front Royal... Maybe look at Lake Holiday Estates. It's about 10 miles west of Winchester, a beautiful subdivision with nice amenities and about 40 minutes from Front Royal.
That's my initial thought. If you want you can google Lake Holiday Winchester Virginia and probably find the subdivision's website and see if it's you....

Berryville is nice .But I don't think you will find everything on your wish list in any of the towns around that area. Those things can be found just not in one small town.Winchester does offer a lot.

There is a new wine bar called Iron Bridge Wine Company in Warrenton. The downtown area is definately quaint. It is about a 30 minute drive to Front Royal.

I was thinking that too. It is everything that the OP claims to want except that it might be a bit further out than 45 minutes. Not sure. Never made the drive.

Executive Housing Request
Thank you to everyone who replied to my request for information on the most desirable areas around Front Royal. Your information was very helpful.
I am looking for a limited lease obligation for executive, furnished housing in the areas of: Strasburg, Warrenton, Middleburg and Winchester (or surrounding areas). Any idea where to start to look? Any web sites that are local for the area? I am hoping for townhome, condo, guest home type setting as opposed to the sterile environment of an extended stay hotel. Any leads would be great! Thank you.

Personally, I always thought Front Royal was one of the "best kept secrets". It might not have the organic grocery style of ambiance that you are seeking, but you might like it more than you think. And it's always nice to have as short a commute as possible. IMO Front Royal is a charming and friendly town. It has coffee shops and book shops and other interesting shops, as well as plenty of intelligent people. Why not rent a place there for a month or so before choosing a place to live. That way you can find a town that works for you.

It is a charming little town for sure..... While there are some intelligent people there to be sure, there are also some typical hillbilly types, but it IS nestled in the hills so what do ya expect???
This is a good suggestion.
