Fairfax County: What is the best way to donate some clothing? Preferably they offer receipt for tax deductible.

Thanks.

Many of these sites will come to your home to pick up and leave a blank receipt for you. When we moved from NOVA a few years ago the wife really got rid of stuff like this. Lots of good clothes and so on. She probably had them come out 5-6 times while decluttering the house.

Leave a blank receipt? So you can fill it anything you like?

Thanks.

Yes, because people are donating maybe a couple hundred bucks worth of stuff at most. Under $250 you don't need anything for taxes anyway. If you plan on writing in that you donated $4K worth of used clothing (that's used fair market value not what you paid for it) yes you will find yourself with a nice audit.
