Thanks in advance for any answer!
My husband and I are looking to buy a nice fixer upper in this area and I will like to know how safe the area is.

We went to see the house yesterday and it was ok, except for the hispanic people across the street with their loud music, but I guess we can always call the cops if they are noisy at night.

Judging from your post, it doesn't sound like the neighborhood you are looking at is going to be a good match for you.

If something is already bothering you and you are talking about calling the cops and you haven't even moved in yet....I would move on to something else.

well I would call the cops in ANY place if there is loud music after 8 pm, just because it is not legal and it does bothers me.

Maybe some one else can offer some insight on the area, my husband is very interested on fixing this little house for us but I would love to know how the area is with respect to crime

It is not a safe area. the surrounding neighborhoods are not great. In this market, you may be able to get another fixer upper in another neighborhood. Try looking at zip code 22192...

Personally, I wouldn't buy there. Try the western end of the county. If you want to stay east try lake ridge or montclair.
