Hello.

We are 3 students from VT who want to live in or around Reston come next Fall. We have limits of about $600 each. We will be interning/ coop-ing for engineering firms in the area. Is it possible to find a 3br place for how much we can contribute?

Or, is anyone looking to sublet for May-December 2008?

I'm renting an apt in Reston right now. I've heard that Craiglist can be a great source for condos and townhomes, though I just drove around and checked stuff out. There aren't too many apartment complexes in Reston, but a few do have three bedroom models. You might be able to get something for around $2,000 if you can get a special. The area can be pricey, unfortunately.

In Reston, look at Harbor Park, St John Woods and Archstone. Parc Reston does not have 3-bedroom units, to my knowledge.

You might get a better deal in Herndon. If you stay on the Sunrise Valley side of Herndon, you'll be fine. The other side of Herndon [on Sunset Hills] is not so great. Oddly enough, the Sunset Hills side is one of the best areas of Reston.

In Herndon Van Metre has some apartments called Woodland Park and there is another Archstone community there, too.

I'd stay away from Waterside and Colvin Woods in Reston. Good luck!

Might try Dulles Greene Apartments in Herndon. It's on Rock Hill Rd near Route 28. Their site lists 3brs at $ 1542. I think Remington at Dulles Town Center lists at about the same price but is in a much nicer location. Parc Dulles is at the same location and their 3brs are at $1800.

You may also want to look for misc town homes, etc. for rent. A lot of people are renting what they can not sell right now, etc.

Hmmm...you guys might be better off splitting up and using Craig's list to find people looking for temporary roommates.

Check out Trevors Run Apartments in Herndon. They have decent pricing and it should be ~1800 for a 3 bedroom. If you decide to go with them let me know and I'll split the finders fee. :-)
