Comparing locations in NOVA
I am a new immigrant to US and would likely be living in boston till retirement
(job). I recently visited some relatives in the DC area and I immensely liked suburban DC (especially arlington county,VA ).
I liked it so much that I thought I would move down here after retirement or if possible earlier, close to my relatives. Given the no. of foreclosures available , I thought it would be the right time to buy a cheap foreclosure single famiily home here. I even found a $300k, 1200 sq ft foreclosure single family 3 BR, home on a 7000 sq ft lot, not too far from east falls church station.
But I am not sure if it is a good neighbourhood to live in and if it is the right price. I am not familiar with NOVA at all.
I would appreciate anyone providing me neighbourhood comparisons between places like fairfax falls church, annandale, alexandria, ballston, court house, rosslyn etc to buy a house.
Comparisons based on proximity to good shopping areas, safety, and general reputation.
