Hello! Does anyone have any information about Herndon, VA? The company that my husband works for is closing its call center in our area and we have less than a month to relocate and find a new job. The company is offering relocation and, at first, North Carolina was where we were planning to go, however things aren't going well with that...and Herndon has a position open for which he is qualified. I've never lived out of PA and I have no idea how to go about looking for a new place to live....so if anyone has any information about Herndon or surrounding towns, I would REALLY appreciate any info I can get!!

Thanks!

Jenna

it is next to reston, decent area. good thing is since he will be in herndon you can go west for housing and commute just to herndon. more affordable options. decide how long he is willing to commute and post that - along with price range and other needs - you will get more specific suggestions

Herndon is not bad...close to Reston, convenient shopping locations, adjacent to major highways, near parks, etc.

Home prices here are insane. Maybe you'll be looking for an apartment? Either way, you shouldn't have any problems finding a place to live provided that you have enough money and good enough credit. If you google "Apartments Herndon Virginia" all kinds of sites will pop up.

If you move here and things don't work out with your husband's job, I wouldn't worry too much. There are always jobs available in the D.C. metro area.

Life around here is quite the hustle and bussle - commuting is a reality for many people. Sometimes living further out to save money on a place isn't really worth it once you factor in gas and time spent in traffic.

Towns near Herndon: Reston (which you know already!), Falls Church, Oakton, Vienna, Fair Oaks/Fairfax (but not Fairfax City), Centreville, etc. I would avoid going as far out as Manassas, Haymarket, or South Riding.
