I am considering a postion on the base in Quantico, VA. I would like some info on the housing situation within a reasonable distance. I am looking for a decent 1 bedroom to start out with. I also need info on the university choices that are close or within a decent driving distance from Quantico. Thanks.

Check out Fredericksburg, which has the University of Mary Washington.

Default Great Apt Near Quantico

Check out Virginia Commons Apartments -- it is the first nice community north of Quantico. New, safe, convenient & staff really cool.

There are multiple areas near Quantico with decent 1 bedroom apts. I would suggest South stafford or Fredericksburg. Mary Washington University and Germanna Community College are there.

I live in Southbridge which is only a 5-10 min drive North of Quantico. I dont know much about the housing situation for one bedrooms, but as for Universities. I attend Mary Washington Unviersity, its 20 miles south of Quantico and driving south on 95 is hell on some days especially fridays. Also Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is located in Woodbridge off of Rt.1, about 10 miles or less away from Quantico.

Quantico has many colleges on base such as NOVA, Old Dominion, Stratford and many other colleges who teach on campus or have satellite rooms there. Also Startford and Strayer are located in Woodbridge, George mason University Manassas campus off of Rt. 234. So you have a variety of colleges and Universities to go to.
