I am looking at moving to the The Reserve at Fairfax Corner apartments. Can someone give me some information on that area. Is there a lot of crime and all? Said to be not too far from mall and all. I am hoping I get some good reviews. I looked at apartmentratings.com and saw what the latest reviews were.

That area is extremely safe and full of young professionals. You'll be just fine.

I don't know anything about that specific complex, as I haven't lived there. But I do live in Fairfax and that area is very safe. I'd have no worries about safety there, and the mall is quite nice.

I lived at the Hermitage and then the Lincoln for a few years. It's a generally quiet area, and it's close to pretty much every kind of store you would need to go to. There are tons of restaurants...nationwide franchises as well as owner-operated businesses. There was a peeping tom incident a few years back, and a woman on a walk path was harassed around the same time. That's about it. It's a great area, and I LOVED living there.

Is the Reserve the one by Cinema DeLuxe? I love that shopping center! You'll be able to walk to a lot, and Wegman's is just down the road. I think they had some trash collection issues a few years ago. Make sure to visit at different times of day before you rent (wherever you rent).

Fairfax Corner is a very, very safe area! You will have no issues here like that. People run and bike along the sidewalks surrounding the area and there is lots of activity (shops and restaurants). Wegmans is around the block. Fair Oaks Mall is nearby and one of the safest in Northern VA (people drive from Springfield and other far areas just to shop safely at Fair Oaks). The only negative of Fairfax Corner is that it is kinda far out if you want to be a part of the close-in DC/Arlington/Alexandria action....otherwise, it's suburban bliss!

Sorry, I know this is an older post. I live at the Reserve in Fairfax currently. Over the summer there was a rash of break in's in the area, but the Fairfax police were on top of it. This is the suburbs and is a very very safe area, I have accidentally left my car unlocked etc and never had a problem. My wife walks our dog late at night alone and its not a problem.

The complex is across I66 from the mall and walking distance to the Fairfax Corner development as well as Wegman's, the greatest grocery store chain in the history of the universe. The market rates on these units has gotten very reasonable recently IMHO. The only thing I really hate about the complex is they don't schedule enough trash pick ups, and a mountain of garbage accumulates at the dumpsters every week. By mountain, I mean a 6 foot tall pile of garbage bags. I lived in this complex about 5 years ago and there was different management company and they had the exact same problem back then, so I can only assume it will never ever ever be resolved.
