Hi all, we are looking to buy our first home in the area. We have a relatively small budget, around 170k, and are considering either Herndon/Reston, Sterling, or Woodbridge/Lorton area. We love the housing selection in Woodbridge, but the main thing deterring us from that area is the mess that is I-95 S. I work in Alexandria, near 395 & edsall, and currently it takes me 30 min to get to work and 45 min to get home. Does anyone here work in Alex and live in Woodbridge and if so, what is your commute like?

Thanks!

jb

I lived in Woddbridge for six years and commuted to DC by way of Alexandria. What a nightmare just to get to Springfield. Then again, it's been eight years since I moved away, but I don't suspect it has become any better. It gets even worse in the evening trying to return to Woodbridge where you could easily spend over one hour stuck in traffic on 95. I would not do it again, if I had the choice.
