I can kinda see both sides of this argument, but if it was me driving down the street and I saw a bunch of people in the road doing whatever, I would've just gone down another street to avoid them. Especially if there was no traffic. While I do not condone throwing any object at a vehicle, I must admit i thought this story was pretty funny when I initially heard it. When I learned how out of control it got it became less funny. Honestly, the gun was overkill no matter what your views are. Couldn't he have just brandished a badge and called for back up or something. Or even joined in the fun??? And BTW aren't Hummers supposed to take many forms of abuse? Kind of defeats the purpose of having one.

Default Snowballing

I don't think it's safe to hurl snowballs at any vehicle, but I think hurling insults at passing Hummers (the vehicular variety) is a public service.

Note that the uniformed cops didn't think the situation serious enough to arrest anybody. If a situation's not serious enough for an arrest, it's certainly not serious enough for someone to draw a deadly weapon. That cop could have slipped or dropped the gun and accidentally shot someone.

humph. I saw this cop going beserk on tv. I bet if he was in another older vehicle or even his cop car he would'nt think twice to get out and act a fool.

Dude was driving a new Hummer-don't those things run $60k plus? On a cop salary no less?

The good thing is it now looks like he will be fired, according to what I heard on some of the local stations. Wonder how he'll make his payments then? Moderator cut: No speculation regarding character, please. Thank you

He's not a cop, he's a detective. He's been with the DC police force for over 20 years.

You sound like a cop hater. You really should show more respect. Detectives who work with forensics and have 20+ years experience make more than you think.
