It was a bit runnier than I expected but tasted pretty much the same. Found it at Wegmans in Sterling, across the aisle from the frozen breakfast sausages etc.

I saw it at the Fairfax Wegmans tonight and immediately thought of this forum! I guess they carry it in all their stores.

Never heard of quark. Do you eat it with speck? (another German food I'd never heard of until I traveled there. Speck... quark... funny names IMO).

Go to the local farmer's markets that have dairy stands. Several of the dairies selling at the area markets have quark, plain and flavored.

Yep! Arlington's farmers market (by Court House station) is open every Saturday of the year, excluding holidays. One of the vendors there is a creamery from Hagerstown that sells several varieties of quark.
