Man, I hope we dodge the bullet.

Yesterday afternoon, I took 48 students to a ski resort in PA and dropped them off....and I have to go pick them up tomorrow.

Hey snow, STAY TO THE SOUTH!

Well it has started in West End Alexandria and it is sticking (WTF else do you expect with 20 degree temps?) I would rather have a 20 inch snowstorm that means two days off from work than a 2-4 incher that means missing church.

yes, you can justify missing church and work with a 20 inch snowstorm.

It has started here in Falls Church, but its the nice light, fluffy stuff. Much better than heavy wet snow. Personally, this amount of snow doesn't bother me, although I've seen just about every winter storm imaginable so not much phases me.

I'll have to call my mother up in NY though, and tell her not to feel so bad, its finally snowing here.

Does anyone have any current road conditions? I received more very bad news this morning in my life and NEED to take a long drive out to the country to do some more soul-searching. Removing myself from Reston is generally the only thing that makes me happy at times like this. I'd imagine the main roads are all okay in Fairfax County. How are they out in Loudoun County?

Nice inch at least at my house (near GMU). Hubby and the oldest daughter (almost 5) went to the car show this morning. Pretty much a fabulous day for hubby, gets to look at cars and drool and gets to drive in the snow. A couple of his favorite things. The toddler and I are prepping her room for painting and putting taco soup in the crock-pot. Must say it's fun to have the quiet kiddo at home with falling snow outside.

Car54 - did you drive a school bus, or private bus? Doesn't sound like a fun trip tomorrow. Good thing there isn't school for kids on Monday!

Scrannie - Hmmm....sorry you are having a bad day.

CRAPPY. Sorry things aren't going well. Not the best time for a road trip though.

I went to target, all happy that it wasn't snowing. After an hour of shopping, I saw what it was like outside.. UGH.

Yes, I drove my school bus.

It would seem that FCPS is dabbling in the charter business...we are getting more and longer trips, that sometimes don't even involve FCPS students. I took a busload of adults to Winchester a few weekends ago.

They actually make a profit on these trips, so I guess it makes sense in light of the budget situation. Heck, they have the buses, they have the drivers...might as well make a few bucks, right?
