Clydes is having a special on Chesapeake Rockfish this week. I can't say I've ever had it. What do you foodies think? Is it tasty? Is it worth ordering?

I've always loved rockfish. I'm sure Clyde's will do a fine job preparing it. It is thick, moist very white (and mild) fish.

Excellent fish. Similiar in texture to a grouper or young cod, mild flavor similar to flounder. Heavy sauces can overwhelm the mild flavor, so bear that in mind.

Rockfish is just ok to me. I much prefer Pompano. Every once in a while I'll find it for $1.99 a pound and stock up.

If you ever get a chance to have some Artic Char, order it.

normie, I talked to my mom (the major seafood lover in my family), and she said to go for it. She thinks she might have had (and really enjoyed) some Chesapeake Rockfish at the Calvert House in Riverdale, MD, back when I lived in PG Co. and she and my dad were visiting. She recalls that she ordered "something regional that wasn't a crab cake." (The Calvert House is a really cool place, BTW - it has a really dated "supper club" ambiance that I remember seeing often during my family's vacation to the DelMarVA peninsula when I was younger, but everything I've had there has been very good.) Clyde's (any of the locations, I'd think) is definitely reliable, but I'm sure you already knew that.
