My husband and I are moving out for him to go to UHM. Just wondering if any of you know how much of a pagan/Wiccan-type presence is in residence on Oahu? Or if there is any stigma to it amongst the locals?

Also, anyone have good tips for protection from spirits in the home or for the individual? I don't know why it never occurred to me how haunted Hawai'i could be until reading the ghost thread on here!

Thanks for any information!

Salt, Kahunas and ti leaves are what's always mentioned. And don't look at night marchers.

Can't help you much with the pagan-Wiccan stuff but we've got a little of just about everything around here so there's probably some somewhere.

Default and the like...

Hawaii is a wonderfully, wonderfully spiritual place. Certain areas more so than others. The stories you read are real and they happen every day. Keep reading, you'll learn alot about things.

I'm thinking your religion wouldn't go over big with the locals but I could be wrong.

Keep your religion to yourself just like you would in any small town, especially since there seems to be more superstition in Hawaii.

Edit: Oh you said UHM. Still, it's not going to be like NYC or LA.

I guess there is a wiccan or two. Wiccan is more related to the western world,. Hawaiian religion is related to Polynesia which is not the west. There are lots of Christians and Buddhists.
