Hahaha!I didn't even realize I spelled hostel wrong!Kind of a funny mistake!
Thanks for all of the advice.
@Aiea nana-I certainly don't want to be resented for taking jobs away from anyone.I plan on becoming a resident of hawaii myself.I am not looking to do just try something new and hope it works.I am commited to this move and have every intention of making it work and being part of the community.I am fully aware that this will take some time as I am sure you see a lot of people come and go.I am currently very active in my community and plan on being so in hawaii.

As if!! Haole friends are always whining that they can't get jobs because the locals get all the good jobs. Hey, just sayin'.

Also, by "Hawaiian residents", do you mean people who consider themselves Hawaiian, or people who live in this state? If the latter...I'm a Hawaiian resident and I never resent someone getting a job if they are the best qualified.

And quite a few parts of Waipahu. Nanakuli, Waianae.

Are you at least a partial minority? Not being flippant, I'm half Mexican so I was an undercover haole when I moved here 25 years ago.

Just put up an update to a thread I started back in July. Similar situation as you, and I got a substantial amount of money set aside for when/if i make the move.

Personally I am finding it almost a little too risky at this stage of my career ,almost that is...

edit for link
Dreamer looking for some feedback....
